“We should learn the “Establishment of religion” from Mahabharata or even we all should practice it in our everyday lives to keep the Indian culture alive.”

–Anandi Tiwari

In this modern India not every child is interested in their Indian culture in Indian mythology but today we are going to tell you a story of “Anaadi Tiwari” who utilized his lockdown time in learning Mahabharata and the characters in it. He is a 9 years old kid who is in 4th standard from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. His maternal grandmother told him the epic story of Mahabharata whenever his maternal grandparents used to come to his home. From that point, he got so interested that he started watching Mahabharata which “Star Plus” used to telecast on its channel. He got so involved in this that he also started watching videos on YouTube and listening to podcasts. He has a very sharp memory that he memorizes every single episode of Mahabharata and knows the story in detail. He is a brilliant kid and southpaws (left Handed).

His parents are very supportive. His father Mr. Vishesh Tiwari is a MBA graduate and now a dealer in Godrej securities. His mother Dr. Ruchi Mishra Tiwari has completed her Ph.D. in English Literature and now she is an assistant professor at university.  He also has an elder sister who motivates him to learn positive things in every aspect of life. Anaadi is also fond of Marvel Avengers and loves to research the characters and their origin. He also plays football. He loves to discuss Mahabharata with his parents. His mother said that sometimes we get surprised when he tells us things that they even don’t know.

Religion teaches us a lot about life, rituals and connects us to god. His parents feel proud whenever they see their kids learning about their culture and connecting more to religion. Anaadi is a very virtuous and caring kid. He respects every relation whether at home or outside in the world. His parents allow their children to do the things that they enjoy most.

When Annadi’s mother Dr. Ruchi Mishra Tiwari was asked, “What expectations do you have from your children?” She replied that she only wants her children to participate in different competitions like poem recitation etc. But there is no pressure like they have to score any position in those competitions, only they should try to do their best as much as they can. She wants her child to learn sincerity, punctuality, and to give hundred percent in whatever they do. She explained that a child starts learning by doing small activities and then automatically develop those qualities in their life. As a parent, she believes that strictness is also important aspect of parenting but a balance should be maintained.

Some tips that Dr. Ruchi gave is that children learn more by observing things around them rather than what their parents tell them to do. She also said that parents should guide their children at an early age and once the habit is formed then after an age you don’t have to push your child to do things forcefully.
