Rakshan: A Great Learner

Every child has their learning capacity and potential. They are talented in their ways. Today we will talk about one such child Rakshan P, who has a brilliant mind and is multi-talented. He is basically from Chennai, Tamil Nadu, and studies in Home Schooling.

Rakshan is an enthusiastic and well-organized child who loves to learn about different things. He has a sharp mind and can grasp things faster. When he was 3.5 years old, he started reading quite fast and fluently. At the age of 4, he started doing addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division quite easily. He loves to solve sudoku 9*9 and puzzles. He has an interest in learning about the periodic table and has mastered the first 40 elements.

His parents Praveen Kumar V and Mahalakshmi T found out that he has a sharp memory when he pointed out rightly at the different countries and their flags on the world map at the age of 2.  From that day his parents started playing memory games with him. Once they placed 30 random flashcards on a table and made him memorize in one minute and asked him to tell in the sequence which become his favorite memory game in childhood.

His parents said that after 10 years from now his parents see him serving as the Commander of any Indian Service. They further added that it depends on him what he wants to be in life and they are sure that he is going to excel in whatever he will choose for himself. His parents always ensure that he mingles with people to learn about the outer world.

He amazed his parents with his learning skills at the age of 4 when he learned the multiplication tables from 1 to 10 within a week. He was taught only once by his parents and he repeated it fluently without making any mistake. He plays with numbers well.

He is attracted to books and has a love for reading. He writes his own stories and likes to solve various puzzles. He has a curiosity about learning about different countries. He is very fond of bikes and cars.

His parents told us that as the world is full of competition and expectations so, we must ensure that our children must grow in an environment of their own and their childhood should not get affected by such things.

Some parenting tips by his parents are:

 1. Motivate them to build self-confidence as well as self-reliance.

2. Teach them the importance of punctuality and discipline.

3. Give them basic moral values.

4. Never discourage your child.

Rakshan follows a rule that is “Work while you work, play while you play”.  He is very focused, always does one thing at a time, and does not get distracted by external factors when he is involved in any activity. He is a very sweet child who takes responsibility for his things and his parents.

This was all about Rakshan. The entire team of The Child Prodigy wishes him all the best for his future endeavours.
